Victorian schools premier league
I have recently sent Chess Victoria a document (CV school teams recommendations) which shows them how to increase their revenue from school-events from $1011 (2009) to around $20,000.
The proposal also offers almost $10,000 to clubs and earmarks some $4000 for junior development; still leaving a tidy profit for Chess Victoria.
I wonder if it will make it to a vote?

Chess is boring
The Junior Masters event held today was a dynamic and exciting event. Why was everyone so excited?
Because it was run using a format never used for a chess tournament before. It was different!

Grand final day
Looking forward to the game this afternoon (even if the season ended for Collingwood last week)! Driving around it’s fun to see flags on every car, posters in shop windows, balloons tied to fences and everyone with their scarves and jumpers.

Chess tournaments
Here we go; let’s try to apply the Pyramid of Players principle to chess tournaments.
What events does Chess Victoria need to run?

The sincerest form of flattery
I am honoured. I really am.
The current CV Junior Director has radically altered the format of the school-teams events this year; and I’ve just heard that there have been more changes, this time to the CV Schools-Finals.

Free Entry for Titled Players
Just a question….should titled players receive automatic free entry?
What if there were a requirement that in exchange for their free entry to every event, they too had to give back and commit to something?
