I have recently sent Chess Victoria a document (CV school teams recommendations) which shows them how to increase their revenue from school-events from $1011 (2009) to around $20,000.
The proposal also offers almost $10,000 to clubs and earmarks some $4000 for junior development; still leaving a tidy profit for Chess Victoria.
I wonder if it will make it to a vote?

The Junior Masters event held today was a dynamic and exciting event. Why was everyone so excited?
Because it was run using a format never used for a chess tournament before. It was different!

The current CV Junior Director has radically altered the format of the school-teams events this year; and I’ve just heard that there have been more changes, this time to the CV Schools-Finals.

Free Entry for Titled Players
Just a question….should titled players receive automatic free entry?
What if there were a requirement that in exchange for their free entry to every event, they too had to give back and commit to something?
